Young Drivers Campaign: New Speeding Phase Launched – Get Involved

Nearly one in three drivers killed while speeding is aged 16-25. To help reduce this, the Scottish Government and Road Safety Scotland have launched a new phase of their Young Drivers campaign targeting risky driving behaviours among 17 to 25-year-old men.

Following an initial phase focused on drink and drug-driving, the campaign now addresses speeding – reminding young drivers that unlike their favourite games, there are no second chances on real roads. The consequences of dangerous driving can be devastating, not only for themselves but for their passengers and other road users. The campaign also highlights the tougher legal penalties for drivers in the first two years after passing their tests, including points, driving bans, fines and even prison.

The creative taps into this audience's love of gaming, reiterating our key message 'Real Roads Don't Reset'.

Speeding is a dangerous game. There are no extra lives, so the campaign urges drivers to slow down and Arrive Alive.

Launching today, the campaign runs across TV, streaming services, cinema, outdoor and digital channels. This media activity will be supported by PR, content creator collaboration and partnerships with football and rugby teams across the country.
