A new chapter for women's health in Scotland: The Women's Health Plan Phase Two

Phase Two of the Women's Health Plan will be published on 20 January 2026, building on progress to improve women's health across Scotland.

We're sharing this stakeholder toolkit in advance so you can plan ahead if you'd like to get involved on the day and support the launch, but please hold off on any public communications until Phase Two is published on 20 January 2026

Since the first phase of the Women's Health Plan launched in 2021, progress has been made.

In Phase Two we want to turn progress into momentum, with bold new actions designed to make a real and lasting difference for women's health.

Phase Two focuses on priority programs to:

  • Transform gynaecology services to ensure women and girls have timely access to gynaecological care.
  • Eliminate cervical cancer by 2040.
  • Improve support and understanding of women’s brain health.

How you can help

To promote and celebrate the publication of the Women’s Health Plan Phase Two, we have created a range of digital and printable assets and resources that can be used across your communication channels and in real life settings, to help raise awareness of the importance of women’s health, the  next phase of the women’s health plan, and the changes it drives.

We have created a stakeholder toolkit which shares all the ways you can get involved and support the launch of Phase Two. This includes:

  • Ready-to-use digital assets such as social media statics, copy and video, display screen animations and web banner images.
  • Printable assets such as posters, a leaflet and pledge cards.
  • Ideas of how you can promote Phase Two using our digital assets on your online channels or within your premises. For example, through social media take-overs, implementing ‘Women's Health Wednesdays’ into your content calendar, using display screens within your settings or including within staff and community newsletters.
  • Ideas for local promotion, to raise awareness of the next phase of the Plan and the importance of women’s healthcare within your community. For example, by creating a Women’s Health Notice Board, hosting a Conversation Café or recruiting a Women’s Health Champion within your organisation.
  • Related reading and online resources, such as the focus group report which shows how the views of women and girls fed into the development of phase two.

The toolkit and all resources can be downloaded from the SG Campaign Resource Centre.

Please explore the toolkit for ideas that work for you and your community.

Phase Two publishes on 20 January. Whether you celebrate with us on the day or share these resources when the time is right for you, your voice helps drive change for women's health.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Many thanks for your support.
