This Clean Air Day – Let's tackle vehicle idling together
Clean air is fundamental to our community health and wellbeing. It supports our children's development, helps prevent respiratory and cardiovascular disease, and helps protect the planet. When we breathe cleaner air, our communities flourish.
Clean Air Day (19 June) creates an opportunity to amplify our collective impact by focusing on a small behavioural change that can make a meaningful difference to the air we all breathe – vehicle idling.
In partnership with Global Action Plan, we have developed resources that educate about air pollution and vehicle idling. Our materials inform people about the health and environmental impacts while offering simple, practical solutions that empower everyone to make small changes that can collectively create a big impact.
By joining forces on this simple message alongside your other Clean Air Day activities, we can help create a ripple effect of positive change in our communities.
How you can get involved:
- Inspire others to act by sharing the assets on your social media platforms, newsletters and internal platforms.
- Promote the simple "switch off when you stop" message through your channels and link to Vehicle engine idling: switch off when you stop - gov.scot for more information on vehicle idling and simple actions to reduce air pollution.
- Use our campaign hashtag #LetsDoNetZero to amplify your message and connect with like-minded individuals and organisations.
- Get inspired by activities our partners have planned for Clean Air Day.
- Share the assets further with your contacts and partners to encourage positive change.
You can download all assets via the SG Comms Resource Centre - Clear Air Day
