Living Donation Campaign Launch
The Scottish Government has launched a campaign celebrating living kidney donation – an exceptional gift which can transform and save lives.
The campaign aims to raise awareness of the benefits and impact of living donation, which generally offers the best outcomes for patients living with kidney failure who need a kidney transplant.
Over 1,900 people in Scotland have helped others by donating a kidney, in the last 60 years. There are 400 people in Scotland waiting for a kidney transplant at any one time. Although Scotland has an opt out system of deceased organ and tissue donation, continued awareness of the role living donation plays in improving transplant numbers is needed.
The toolkit can be accessed via the SG Campaign Resource Centre here and contains the following:
- Key messages
- Case studies
- Social statics
- Suggested social copy
How You Can Help
- Disseminate the key messages across your audiences
- Share the case studies on websites and social channels
- Post the social statics/copy across social channels
- Re-share Organ Donation Scotland posts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and remember to use the campaign hashtag #TheExceptionalGift
Any support you can give to the campaign would be hugely appreciated.
If you have any questions about the campaign or require assistance with the assets, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
